I don't remember whose idea it was to go on that walk - but remember what a beautiful day it was? Not a cloud in the sky and the sun drenched the park in light. I kept finding all these wonderful stones along the way - I just had to take them with me. Not every one, of course - only the bestest. You kept asking me what I needed all those stones for - but it was kinda hard to explain.
Remember how we found that open meadow? Remember all the birds and what-not singing and chirping and all that? Why would we want to go any farther, I said, and I dumped all those stones out right there on the ground (Lord you wouldn't believe how sore my back was).
And while you were off looking at the trees or something I got to looking at those rocks (nature's bricks you know) and I thought I might put them to good use.
What are you building, you asked and I shrugged because I didn't want to tell you because I thought it should be a surprise.
That kind of looks like a wall you said and I guess it wasn't that surprising after all.
Can I help you offered and I shrugged because that's nice but what if you fucked it all up?
What's it for you asked and I didn't answer because everybody knows what a wall is for.
Which side am I supposed to be on (again with the questions) and that's a pretty silly thing to ask because you can be on my side or that side if you want.
I don't think I like this wall you said.
I want to keep walking you said.
Your wall is in my way you said but it turns out that's not really an issue any more because
I found out
I found out
You found out that there's more than one use for a rock after all.
Chilling. Beautiful work.
